ITB works as a multifunctional tool: you can present text, images, audio, video, internet resources...
But you (or the students) can also INTERACT with the board - write answers to questions, drag and drop, draw, or play games.
Our task today is to explore the possibilities of SMART ITB software. The editor works intuitively, and some choices are similar to those available in MS office. To get an idea, we will also evaluate some internet-available examples.
1. Open Mozilla, go to veskole.cz
2. Choose some ITB material for SMART, download and view. Which positive and negative features can you identify?
3. What makes a good ITB material? Think and discuss - work in pairs. Enter you comments into this blog.
4. Open Smart.
5. Start a new file. Insert a text, an image, a weblink, explore the pen function. Feel free to experiment and have fun creating.
HOMEWORK:
Download and install SMART, start working on your own material - he topic shall be identical as your HotPot topic. Be creative!
- Think about the structure. Include at least five different activities.
- Vary the tasks, bu practice the same vocabulary.
- Focus on contextual use of the vocabulary.
- Compulsory items: teacher book with objectives, target group and instructions; listening task; feedback to all tasks; links to T's Book from all pages and back; active URLs.

Stáhla jsem si téma Family a oceňuji zejména cvičení, kdy se dají přetahovat slovíčka nebo cvičení "šibenice", kdy je možné hádat slovíčka po písmenkách.

Je dobré, že děti mohou aktivně pracovat v hodině. Není to potom tak statické a nudné i při běžném učení slovíček.

Our house: tento materiál mě zaujal pro své obrazové stránce, pomocí přetahování se popisují jednotlivé části domu, dále tu najdeme křížovku a cvičení na doplňování, je tu u všeho feedback což považuji za dobré, také je tu vložena poslední stránka bílá na případné doplnění a vlastní niciativu žáků. Celková úroveň cvičení se postupně zvyšuje a může motivovat žáky k dalším aktivitám s tímto tématem.

Paja and I think that a good ITB presentation should be clear, understandable and not very colourful. There should be involved listening, speaking, spelling and use of English exercise.

Good ITB materials should be interesting for students and easy to work with. It is good to practise the main acquired information in different tasks (audio, video, pictures, matching, etc.). It is also useful for students to get some feedback.

In my opinion, the good ITB material should include lots of pictures - but just few simple colours used for background, text and other objects. Then appropriate vocabulary and creative exercises (e.g. matching). Plus some listening, speaking or video tasks.
